If you need an easy striped baby blanket crochet pattern, you’re going to love this easy baby blanket!
This is one of my favorite free patterns that I have shared and it’s such a uniquely fun pattern for baby that I can’t stress what a great project this is.
I mean, I love crochet everything, don’t get me wrong. I make crochet hats and granny squares for crochet blankets–I’ve shared a multitude of crochet blanket patterns here. But my favorite are the crochet baby blankets,
When I decided to make this blanket, I knew I was ratcheting-up the challenge by making a striped baby blanket. And easy, too? And, stripes of different sizes? Yes, yes, and yes!
I love the visual appeal of this striped baby blanket. But the striping on this free crochet baby blanket pattern is so much more — from small to large stripes and back again.
This blanket pattern does not include repeat rows in multiples because of the row size repeats, but I do envision a wide version of the pattern – with fringe of course – at the back of my bed someday. If I was to increase the width to a bed throw, the multiples would x 2. Then the width of the bed could be combined with gauge to figure out how many stitches to add to the starting chain. I can’t wait to pick out the yarn for this blanket project!
If you use this pattern to make a throw for the end of your bed, please let me know in the comments section or tag me on Instagram @goldenstrandstudio. There is a good chance you might beat me to this project as I have sooooo many design ideas to share with all of you before I get to go back to some of my favorites!

I want to make this for my queen sized bed and I can figure out with a measuring tape and using multiples of 2, how wide to make it. However, I’m not sure at what point I would start decreasing the size of the white and grey stripes to start ending the pattern and then going to the white, grey, white, grey for the last few.
Would you have an idea for how many rows a queen sized blanket would be and at what rows the white and grey bars would start to decrease in size?
Thanks.
