Flutterby Makes A Great Crochet Christmas Stocking
Create your own crochet Christmas stocking by making cute Christmas themed Flutterby Coasters and assembling them into a stocking. This is such a fun and easy project with no toe or heal shaping required! I attached the little squares together with the super simple single crochet join method.
This idea would work for any granny square and I look forward to designing new squares for just this purpose in the future.
♥ Length: 12 inches long x 6 inches wide at shaft, [9 inches wide at toe] (30 x 15 cm)
♥ 10 Flutterby Coasters
♥ Flutterby crochet pattern – or ad-free PDF available at etsy.com
♥ Matching weight yarn for seaming
♥ Crochet hook: Size I/9 (5.5 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge

Skill Level: Easy/Intermediate
Using the Flutterby Coaster pattern (not included with these instructions), create the first 10 rows. The pieces used for this stocking do not add the edging.
To add additional details to your stocking design, change to a contrasting yarn color at the end of Row 9 for a color change on Row 10.
Single Crochet Join:
With wrong sides together, insert hook through through both loops on each piece, yarn over and pull through all four loops on hook, finish stitch as single crochet.
(Altered) Bean Stitch / Puff Stitch:
Insert hook in stitch, yarn over and pull through, *yarn over, insert hook in same stitch, pull through, repeat from * 1 more time, yarn over, pull through 6 loops on hook, chain 1 (to lock stitch). Skip 1 stitch immediately following bean stitch. This will equal two stitches in pattern.
