This easy crochet baby blanket with free crochet pattern is so delicately beautiful, just like a storybook tale.
Once upon a time in a land full of yarn a crochet baby blanket was waiting to be made … Do you have a favorite picture book or photo album from your childhood? I do! I have a pretty little photo album from my mother that has gilded framing detail around the edge.
One day when I was browsing the bookshelf looking for a book to read the kiddos, I came across my mom’s photo album and spent a few moments reminiscing. I finally found a picture book, gathered up the kids, and had a great time reading to them. I just love the simple details of the photo album cover and knew I had to incorporate them into a blanket design. And the Story Book Baby Blanket pattern lived happily ever after.
I love crochet and make crochet hats, granny squares and super easy projects I can pop out in a day. I mean, who doesn’t like a quick and easy beginner crochet project?!
But sometimes I just love making something that takes a little more time. And this pattern for baby blanket is perfect if you’ve just learned how to crochet, or if you have been crocheting blankets for years.
It’s an easy baby blanket, but it’s got such character that it’s honestly fun to make!
