If you’re looking to practice basic post stitches, this ribbed crochet blanket pattern is for you! The post stitches make such pretty ribbing detail and texture for this blanket.
And, don’t worry about working a border for this pattern — I kept it really easy with the border built right in. Solid and simple half double crochet stitches at the beginning and end of each row create a plain base for the texture of the post stitch ribs to pop right out in the design.
There are so many gorgeous crochet patterns available today that feature crochet cables. But, cable stitches can look intimidating and require some practice. The good news is … advanced crochet cables are based upon variations of post stitches used in this Berry Hedge Baby Blanket.
By the time you have completed this blanket, you will have so much more confidence to tackle a beginner cable project.
This blanket is sized to make a baby blanket or toddler sleep mat, but the multiples are included to increase it to a throw size for your couch or even a coverlet for a bed.
