Easy and Cute Chapstick Cozy Crochet Pattern
One of the most annoying things is having dry lips and having to dig through my purse to make find my favorite chapstick. Not only for myself, but now it’s become a thing for my kiddos too, because they, like me, just love having non-chapped lips (imagine that).
But short of putting a chain THROUGH the chapstick, I couldn’t think of an easy solution because my latest purse acquisition doesn’t have adequate pockets. Lucky for me, I have a crochet hook.
Coming up with this easy chapstick cozy crochet pattern was a breeze and now finding my chapstick is too!
So, get ready for loving this easy crochet project, pick out your yarn, grab your hook and let’s get going!
What Yarn Should You Use for a Chapstick Holder?
For this easy chapstick holder cozy, I wanted to use something I knew would not be fuzzy or likely yo pick up any lint or anything. I also knew I would not need a lot of yarn, so after looking through my stash, I selected Sugar ‘n Cream 100% cotton yarn in Beach Glass colorway. But this project can be worked with any worsted weight yarn or similar.
What Size Is This Lip Gloss Cozy?
As written, this pattern is one-size. The resulting chapstick holder is 5-inches long by 1.5-inches wide. The stitch I used is a little stretchy, so this will allow some flexibility with sizing, but a chapstick fits very nicely. If you want to use this for a longer lip gloss size, you can add rows to the body of the piece without having to change the flap or loop elements.
How Much Yarn Will I Need to Make a Lip Gloss Holder?
I used less than 10 yards of a 2.5oz skein of Sugar n’ Cream 100% worsted weight yarn in Beach Glass colorway for the pictured chap stick cozy. I do generally crochet in a medium-tension, so this is what I would consider an average amount of yarn usage for this project.
How Do You Crochet a Holder for Chapstick?
This easy chapstick cozy crochet pattern is worked as a rectangle, then folded in half. Once two sides are sealed, then a flap is constructed and a reinforced loop to attach a clip. Primarily using half double crochet and single crochet stitches, this is a very simple construction method for a piece that looks professionally made.
